History

DeCrescente Distributing Company is a third-generation wholesale beverage distributor founded in 1948 by Angelo DeCrescente.

Angelo started the company with 1 truck, selling such brands as Fitzgerald’s, Carling, Kruger, and Miller High Life. These brands were the foundation of DeCrescente Distributing Company.

Angelo’s son, Carmine Sr., became president of the company in 1973, after working many years as the sales manager. Angelo worked alongside Carmine for the next several years, retiring in 1975. The company continued to grow through expansion and acquisition under Carmine’s leadership and broke the 1 Million Case sales mark in 1987.

Family heritage continued as Carmine’s son, C.J., entered the business on a full-time basis in 1979. After working in various positions, such as truck driver, merchandiser, sales representative, and supervisor (like his father), he became General Manager in 1988.

In 1997, Carmine appointed C.J. as President of DeCrescente Distributing Company. C.J. is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations of DeCrescente Distributing Company and actively serves on both the Coors (this year is his final year of a 6-year term)  and Miller National Business Councils. Carmine remains active as Chairman of the Board.

Today, DeCrescente Distributing Company distributes over 7.7 million cases annually (Beer and New Age combined) and operates in a 170,000 square feet of facility that services 11 counties and 7,500 square miles in Upstate New York. The company employs approximately 285 people.
