World Class Beverages Encourages
Responsible Drinking
At Goldring Gulf Distributing we are pleased to be an
integral part of the community. We live here. We work
here. We volunteer here. We raise our children here. We
are committed to making our area a better place to live.
Because we are proud of our products we sell and because
we meet with hundreds of people in our area daily, we
have developed a program to encourage safe, legal and
responsible consumption of all of our products.

Our
sales and marketing training program, The Gulf Beverage
Institute Sales Management Seminar has a comprehensive
section devoted to responsible selling and marketing.
Our sales supervisors and salesmen are required to
complete this training before meeting with customers.
Once a year an intensive review of the training program
is required, but at the weekly sales meeting each
salesman and supervisor is reminded of our obligation as
a responsible vendor. They are encouraged to create new
innovative promotions always keeping responsibility in
mind. They are also required to display our
responsibility message on all signs, banners, posters,
trucks and other forms of advertising.
TIPS( Training for Intervention Procedures) is a
nationally recognized program that trains managers,
bartenders and wait staff to serve alcohol responsibly
in any setting. Those who participate in the class learn
to recognize signs of intoxication, prevent alcohol
sales to minors and intervene with patrons who are
already intoxicated. Find out more at

Underage drinking is a growing concern. We have made
many efforts to help combat this problem in our
community. We have joined forces with representatives
from the police department, the public schools, the Drug
Education Council, and the county health department to
form a teenage drinking task force to confront the
problem of underage drinking in our
community.
Miller Brewing created Campus Resource to help address
alcohol consumption issues on college campuses. The kit
contains tools and resources to aid college
administrators and student leaders in their efforts to
encourage responsibility and prevent underage drinking
at campus and community events. The materials in the kit
have been developed in collaboration with independent
experts who address alcohol consumption issues on
college campuses. The kit contains resources that offer
suggestions for: Preventing underage access, including
tips to spot fake identification. Planning and executing
safe and smooth-running campus celebrations. Teaching
student leaders the skills they need to address alcohol
consumption issues with their peers. Working with
community partners to offer a designated driver or safe
ride home program.
Recently, Elliot Maisel had an interview with the NBC
News Channel in Mobile concerning the topic of keg sales
to an individual and the dispersement to underage people
at high school and college parties. Click here for
the interview.
Pamphlets encouraging parents to talk to their children
about the use and misuse of alcohol have been
distributed to thousands of families in our area. We
have worked with local elementary, middle and high
school, local physicians, area merchants, the Girl
Scouts and numerous civic organizations to help us
deliver our responsibility message. Find out more at
www.millerbrewing.com.
We have worked closely with local college officials by
sponsoring and leading workshops on campus to encourage
safe, legal and responsible consumption of alcohol. We
at Goldring Gulf Distributing Company spend many hours
communicating our commitment to encourage
responsibility, not only on the local level but also on
the state and national scene. We are proud of our
efforts and know that we are making a difference in the
lives of all those we serve.
