SAVOR An American Craft Beer and Food Experience

He Said Beer, She Said Wine

Beer advocates, just like you, are discussing the merits and demerits of the current distribution system of beer at Beeradvocate.com. We invite you to join the discussion with your fellow beer lovers!

We're trying our darndest to keep up with the numerous postings talking about how beer distribution works. And we're trying to be honest and open in taking questions about why it doesn't work, or why the system is just plain broke.

Please join us and your fellow beer lovers at Beeradvocate.com for this lively discussion. While you're there, you might discover that Beeradvocate.com has a whole world of other beer knowledge and opinion that you'll enjoy even more!

For 2,100 beer and food aficionados, SAVOR offered the chance to taste and learn among representatives from 48 of the nation's top breweries. Each session had 700 attendees savoring the delicious pairings of 96 craft beers and 35+ sweet and savory appetizers. It was truly an experience not to be forgotten.

Craft Beer Radio was on hand to record many of the salons presented at SAVOR including presentations by Garrett Oliver, Sam Calagione, Jim Koch and many others. Visit the Craft Beer Radio SAVOR page to listen to those recordings.

What’s the perfect companion to a juicy, flame-kissed burger: a smooth Australian Shiraz or a rich and frothy Indian brown ale? In He Said Beer, She Said Wine Sam Calagione and Marnie Old delve head-first into the divisive (and delicious) wine versus beer debate.

For years, Sam, owner and founder of Dogfish Head craft brewery, and Marnie, a well-known Philadelphia sommelier, have been at odds over which drink is more deserving of a place at the dinner table. In He Said Beer, She Said Wine, Sam and Marnie cover the storied history of both beverages, walk you through how to effectively taste and evaluate beer and wine, and offer specific recommendations for pairing drinks with everything from brie to French fries.

Sam Calagione and Marnie Old, authors of He Said Beer, She Said Wine, appeared on NBC’s “The Today Show” on Thursday, June 12th in the 10 o’clock hour! Click here to watch the video via MSNBC's video player.

Sam and Marnie will be taking their wine vs. beer debate to a national audience as they try to sway hosts Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb with some delicious pairings!
